Replacement Fuel Pump V70-XC70 2000

The fuel pump on my V70 is starting to lose pressure when the engine is off which results in more cranking to start it up.

Volvo no longer makes a replacement fuel pump and I'm looking for the best quality aftermarket one I can find. Any suggestions on a good quality brand? It's a lot of work to replace the fuel pump on an AWD and I don't want to do it twice!

There are some references online for the following being a good pump:

https://www.amazon.com/Walbro-GCA761-2-Fuel-Pump-Installation/dp/B001N1Y394/ref=sr_1_5?crid=1PQNCXUN9L1QP&keywords=GCA761-2&qid=1674105635&sprefix=gca761-2%2Caps%2C133&sr=8-5&ufe=app_do%3Aamzn1.fos.18ed3cb5-28d5-4975-8bc7-93deae8f9840

but it looks to be just the pump part and not the rest of the assembly. I suppose I could use this to rebuild the fuel pump assembly I have now but I wonder if the backflow valve (which is failing on my current unit) is integral to the pump itself or an external component that I would need to source as well.

    Replacement Fuel Pump V70-XC70 2000

I have heard from others that the fuel pumps in the V70 AWD cars were intended to last the life of the car because they were so difficult to replace.

In my case, the pump still works fine by the fuel pressure check valve is failing. I wonder if anyone knows if this check valve is outside of the pump or even outside of the tank and is it a serviceable part that I could address separately. Maybe there is such a thing as an aftermarket check valve I could add to the fuel line somewhere although I think twice about modifying things when it comes to fuel.

I remembered that the fuel pump check valve is replaceable on the older Volvos.

      So, I found this:

Suggest posting anymore questions you have on the check valve to matthewsvolvowebsite.com as well since there is more FWD/AWD info there than on the BB. Do a search on Matthews. They might also have repair instructions posted somewhere.

Bosch if you can find one. That is the brand that Volvo used as OEM on their cars for a long time. Not sure if your 2000 had Bosch. Had a reputation for running forever. My 95 850 still had its original Bosch when I sold it with over 250k. My 90 240’s original Bosch was still going at over 300k when sold!

FCP Euro has fuel pump assemblies for your car.
