    Craigslist add has noted 4 cylinders
    I had 240’s that had 4 a v70 I think had 5
    Did xc70’s ever come with 4

      If built for the U.S. market then it’s either 5 or 6 cylinders. By 2010 they were probably 6 cylinder. The fifth and sixth characters of the VIN will specify the engine type code.

        It’s the 6th and 7th characters in the VIN that identify the engine type. See VIN decoder below:

        My 2002 S40 is a 4 cylinder. I think 2003 - or maybe '04 was the last year for the 4 cyl. If an S or V40 has four lug nuts - it's a 4 cylinder - unless it started with 5 and lost one. - Dave
