Code P2111/ Throttle Actuator Control Stuck Open S60 2007

I have a 2007 S60 with P2111 throttle code that keeps popping.

If I reset the code it runs good/ great, and at some point like going over a

bump, turning the car off the engine start running very rough and get the dreaded

message of reduce engine performance.

From what I found so far the most common items are to

1. Clean the ETM and hope for the best
2. Buy a new ETM
3. Chris Mullet posted that he had to remove the computer from the car and to reset it. Apparently the problem went away doing this.

To remove the ECM you apparently need a special tool which I do not have.

Not sure where to begin, any advice helpful.

Yesterday Sunday took advantage of nicer weather in the garage mid 40's.

Just like I suspected, replace the ETM and so far the car is driving great.

No need to remove the fan shroud, I reach everything from the driver side under the intake.

Working upside and blind was a real pain made much worse by the cold weather.

    Humberto, here's the lock/unlock tool:

Also make sure you have a firm wire connection at the throttle module.

Going to check the connection but I think is fine since I can clear the code and runs fine. Yesterday, I clear the codes and let the car idle for several minutes upon turning the car off and trying to restart it the idle was very rough and after few minutes the same code came back. The throttle butterfly is either sticking or it has a dead spot.

Will let you guys know if I solve the problem.

I have not been able to do any work in the garage, toooo freaking cold here in Chicago. I bought my self icarsoft scanner and it can do do the throttle body relearn procedure. I'll let you know how it goes Saturday's weather in upper 40's out be good for doing the work.

Your 2007 should have a Bosch throttle body that doesn’t require any relearn or programming. Plug-n-play.
