Should I buy 1999 S80 that runs well? S80 1999

Have a chance to pick up a 1999 S80 FWD AT, seems to have been an undercover LE vehicle. Has 144k assume it was well maintained first 100k of its life. Has been sitting as the last inspection sticker was 2011. Starts right up and runs like sewing machine.

I purchased a 98 awd V70 wagon from same friend who has automotive background. Can anyone tell me what to watch out for. Just put wagon on road after replacing power steering pump and determining why it was chewing serpentine belt. Ac comp was held on with one bolt, missing 3. Wagon is for wife and the S80 would be as well.

I have owned 240's, 850 and S40 (which was crappiest Volvo ever made). I have to figure a timing belt is due. If I get 60 to 80k for the buy in it is cheap investment.

I have perused some Edmund reviews but take them with grain of salt.

The 6 cyl engine and tranny are decent, mpg is not the best. It is the electronics that you have to worry about the most. This is the first year for the S80 in the US. It has a 4 speed tranny, the fluid probably needs to be flushed.

Are there any maint records? If the price is right and you like it...

Keeping it running is better than buying new

TY, I always keep first year model issues in mind. If I buy it I will just run it for as long as I can.
