What are people using to shim the air conditioner clutch on P2 cars ? Our '04 V70 does not have the post for the bread clips. There is a phillips headed screw in that area but it not clear how to fit anything under the bushing there.

    You can use zip ties, look at the last picture at the bottom of the page:

    Or you can remove the clutch plate and remove a shim - the hard way:

    In either case, measure the gap first. Then measure the gap after the 'fix'.

      Thanks Klaus,

      I wound up using 0.023" wire from my MIG welder. The 4" zipties were too thick. With the wire I could feel a little drag on the clutch.
