AC relay location 850

My daighter has 96' Turbo Wagon with climate control. Trying to figure out why compressor intermittently. Just started car and with ac on (and fan) I was not getting any voltage to the low pressure switch which suggests an electrical problem upstream of the low pressure switch. I assume there is a relay somewhere that could be a potential cause, anybody know where it is located and if there are any other potential causes?

The AC relay is located under the glovebox. You should be able to see the green or blue relay after removing the kick panel.

Ok, located the relay. Took off cover and cleaned with electronic spray cleaner and verified operation by applying power to terminals 85 & 86 and functioned properly. Reinstalled and after 5 or 6 startups the compressor has come on everytime. Keep our fingers crossed it was the cause and will continue to work.

Thanks Klaus. Just went out there a few minutes ago and the compressor is on now that there is power. AN hour ago the was no power to the pressure switch. It is hit or miss so it sounds like the relay could be the cause. Simple fix if so.

Dumb question, but is the system fully charged with no leaks?

Not a dumb question. I suspect that the freon is a little low, but enough to trigger the low pressure switch. The 12V at the pressure switch cows and goes. Even if the freon is too low to pass voltage to the compressor you can still jump the contacts at the pressure switch and start the compressor (to test only)assuming of course you have voltage at the switch.
