Engine Thunking S70 2000

Hi all,

I have a 2000 S70 GLT SE. It currently is throwing a code for the front o2 sensor which I have I just haven't replaced it yet. Anyway, I just wanted to see if a faulty o2 sensor could cause engine thunking. It's not exactly a thunk but it kinda sputters a bit, not like it's about to die. It's very strange and I can't seem to find anything online. I haven't taken it to a shop yet as I wanted to see if y'all had any ideas first. Lemme know!

    Yes, a bad O2 sensor could cause sputtering. Did you read the code yet?

      Yes it threw the front o2 sensor code. I'll have to change it and see if it's still sputtering.

        Sorry, didn't read your post thoroughly...:)

        So that is the only code? No other symptoms? Before replacing the O2 sensor I would check the air filter "snorkel" for damage or cracks. Check the other vacuum hoses as well. If too much air is in the air/fuel mix it could affect the O2 sensor.

          It's all good! Yes that's the only code it gave. Other than the check engine light that's the only symptom I can see. My buddy, who's a mechanic, looked at it and couldn't tell what the sputtering was coming from he did see that there was some smoke coming from somewhere in the engine but I haven't been able to recreate that since then.
