Buying 98 s70 t5 manual. S70

I need advice. I loved my 96 na manual 85t. Now I've found a manual t5 s70. Cheap. Second owner bought it with low miles. Now has near 200k. I'm pasting our conversation below for your frank opinions... Thanks on advance! vs

Hey Alex It is a t5. Though It has the 2.4l engine not the 2.3 giving it more low end torque with the horsepower. The turbo was rebuilt 5,000 miles ago.

The clutch, slave cylinder and pressure plate are brand new with less the 2,000 miles on it.

The suspension was recently replaced Struts and coil overs that are dropped by an inch, Battery isn't even two years.

It needs some TLC. The body on this is in great shape. The hood and a the spoiler came of my old blue Volvo.

The car runs good, Timing needs to be set right as its to advanced so it misfires when you step on it.

A small hose needs to be replaced as its leaking a little antifreeze fluid. Some of the seals also need to be replaced because it's leaking oil. I have to put more every few weeks.

The sun roof has a small leak. I just don't have the time or money to fix everything. This is an excellent car, It has treated me well I just don't have time to fix everything myself. Will be a great fixer upper for someone who knows what they are doing.

This is the model with the internal slave cylinder. This was my daily driver. I bought a metro because I have to drive 200 plus miles to work. The metro gets better mileage I'm not complaining.
But the car needs some tlc as to why I’m selling it for $1200.

From the factory, the T5 had a 2.3L with a high-pressure turbo and a forged crankshaft, the GLT had a 2.4L low pressure turbo with a cast crankshaft.

Sounds like there is a story, somewhere.

I don't know anything at all about the dealer that Klaus linked, but they seem to keep an inventory of relatively sane, cheap cars.

'98 V70 T5 210K mi., 5-speed manual, original clutch, heated velour cloth comfy chairs, factory HD suspension (1998 only), front IPD stabilizer bar, Volvo strut tower brace and skidplate, XC grill, C70 jewel E-Codes, V-1, Lidatek, IPD stuff, JB Weld, Original Duck Tape, zip-ties, Mobil-1 since new.

(Outlasted the Acura that replaced it, and might even outlast the BMW that replaced the Acura.)

I happen to like wagons S70

The above for $2500 or less? Nice seats, much newer car, the paint matches. I would like to see the carfax and only 1 key??? An extra key is worth $250. All this wagon needs are tinted windows in the rear, looks like someone forgot to put the rear cover back in the car before selling.

A blue hood and spoiler on a green car??? Timing cannot be adjusted. The T5 is a low pressure turbo? Not from the factory! Engine replaced???? and now the ECM is not doing proper fuel management, resulting in bad acceleration?

Oil leaks? Sounds like it is going to need a bit of elbow grease and PCV work, unless the RMS leaks because the clutch replacement was not very good.

He has no pictures of the driver's seat. At that mileage, expect some wear in the driver's seat.
