Spark P;ugs V70-XC70

Have been wrenching Volvo's from '58 444 to a "94 940, and have done some minor work on my wife's 2004 V70 T5. I now find myself t a point of refusing to pay $150 for changing spark plugs, so have decided to wrench it myself.
I note the new iridium plugs have much longer and finer thread threads, due to the aluminum head I am sure and 5 ignition coils. My questions are 1. What type or anti-sieze thread goop should I use. 2. Any preferences to plug mfg. Have used NGK and Bosch in the 940 with great results. 4. What is the torque number for the plugs? Any other hints/kinks would be greatly appreciated.
JoseB

I am with Chris and Greg, single prong copper plugs are still the best. Just gap them to .028, add a little anti seize, and torque them down to around 20-22lbs.

$150? Dealer charges $70 for 5 copper plugs and and half hour of labor?

Hmmm, $150 to change (5) $5 spark plugs ? I'm in the wrong business.

The more or less regular looking plugs work fine. I have used both Bosch and NGK in our '04 V70 2.5T with good results. You might have to change standard plugs more often, but it is a worthwhile trade off for a broken plug or stripped thread. Any never sieze is better than none. Just tighten them like any other plug in an aluminum head.

      Spark Plugs V70-XC70

Echoing Riverbend's experiences, I've had the best luck with plain ol NGK copper core plugs. The last time I bought any they were $2.50 each. If you purchase Volvo label plugs from the dealer, that's what you'll get, although they may be manufactured by Bosch. Of course the autoparts stores will tell you that the latest designer plugs are the only way to go. Tell them not waste their breath.

Torque to 22 ft/lbs. A smidgeon of anti seize on the threads isn't a bad idea.

I'm running these in our 2.5T and 2.4NA with absolutely no issues:
