2012 XC60R

Hello!
A few days my wife surprised me by suggesting that maybe we should consider getting an XC60 to accompany our current `04 XC70.
I looked at our local dealer`s website & they have 3 2012`s.......one being a black XC60R with 45K on it. Not that color matters to me but my wife insists that it must be black.
Don't know much about this model. A friend bought one last year, a 2011 & loves it!
All input appreciated!
Thanks!
Rich

The pictures look real nice. It is CPO'd, so the warranty goes to 2018 or 6 years after the original owner bought it, along with another 100,000Km of use.

The car is 'fast', so be easy on the throttle!

There is snow in the pictures, I wonder how long it has been in the lot??? Could be a bargaining chip?

If the tires are original, ding the price for cost of new tires.

Keeping it running is better than buying new

Took the car for a test drive this afternoon.....wife loved it!
      The deal is done!
We opted for an extended warranty so covered til 2020.
The car is like "new" with only 38K on the odometer. Bought new & serviced at the dealership.
      New Pirelli`s.
Right, Klaus, the car IS fast!
      Thanks for all replies!
      Rich

My sister and family bought a 2011 XC60 T6 new. They really like it and it has been a reliable car for them now for 5 years and 65k miles.

2012 came with a 50,000 mile/5 year wear and tear warranty.

Find out if it is still in force.

Have the car checked out by a dealer now and before the warranty expires. I think that it can be extended for 3 years (not wear and tear).

The warranty is worth several thousand dollars.

In 2012 we test drove a XC60 for a day, and a XC70 for a day. Their interiors are almost identical.

    The 60 was a turbo, the 70 a NA.

Compared to the 70, we thought that the 60 pitched around on bumps much more than the 70 and the turbo was touchy ( I had to lock it in first or second to drive smoothly around parking lots ) and had little engine braking - my wife almost drove off a highway exit because the 60 did not slow down as she expected.

If you and your wife are in a hurry, get a turbo 60.

We are completely happy with our 70.

Nothing can really replace our '96 855R, but the XC70 goes pretty well.
