Does anybody repair these things? They're $1000 new from Tasca and another couple of hundred bucks from my indy mechanic. Where is it located on the vehicle?

Ck'd with Xemodex and they do repair these things or will sell you a pre-programmed remanufactured one for $399.

Do you have the error codes so you can eliminate bad sensors, etc? The BCM is the new name for ABS module, it is located between the air filter and the firewall. Xemodex can send you detail on how to remove and reinstall.

It`s a good idea to check codes for sensors. We didn`t & sent off the BCM to Xemodex.....had a call the next day that there was no problem with the BCM. They updated the solder & heat shield anyway. Excellent service but it was a needless expense & ended up having to go to the dealer & spend another $200+.

BTW, Klaus, the `04 XC70 we just bought a few weeks ago runs strong. Replaced the outer tie rod ends + whl alignment. A few minor things to do ahead.

Thanks for the note about the sensors. I do have the codes and the estimate from the mechanic list no sensors but a new BCM for $1200+
