Finally got my 850 running (an Unsolved Mysteries type update) 850 1993

After several months (and way too many threads on here getting help, of which I'm very grateful), my 93 850 is running again.

2 weekends ago, I finally got 95% of it back together but I wanted to wait until my friend was able to help. Two heads better than one, etc.

So finally this last Sunday, we got it running. If you remember I was off a tad on my timing. Some said it was OK, the local Volvo dealer said if it was him, he'd re-do it. I decided to re-do it again, but oddly enough, this time the tensioner slid right into place without any struggle. Almost made me think I was doing it wrong.

And the spacer slid into place super easy too. And now my timing marks are 100% accurate. Woo!

Once we started it, it initially was showing the same symptoms as before. Cylinder #1 wasn't firing (unplug the fuel injector wire or spark plug, and it made no difference). But after a few minutes something must've cleared up because it started to work fine. In fact, it ran better than it did when I bought it.

Because my car had expired in December, I have to get a trip permit first, but this Friday (I have the day off) I should be able to get it and drive it. Finally, I'll get to stop driving my dads old Cadillac (which is falling apart).

If you take anything from my posts (other than "this guy is a blathering fool") it should be this.

When you are doing your timing, be sure that all 3 marks are lined up! (thanks Captain Obvious, you're a gem!).
