ETS Light V70-XC70 1999

Good evening all, replaced ETM (yellow sticker) this afternoon with another yellow sticker ETM. After install, car started right up with issues, no ets light. Went for a test drive, it was fine, had cruise again, then cruise control disengaged and the ETS came on after about 12 miles. No loss of performance or lack of pedal response. This is same issue I had with the previous ETM. I ordered new AIr Pump Relay(ETM). Hopefully the relay will solve this problem. If there anything else I should be aware, please tell me. Thanks to all the respond. 99 V70 T5, 160 kmiles

If you still have the old ETM, check the pedal position switch as it does get dirty. The plug for the ETM does tend to get loose, so check that and try to ziptie the wire to make it more stable.

The cruise is programmed to turn off if any mechanical problems are noted by the computer.

Klaus, thanks for responding. I took the brake pedal swich apart today. The circuit board strip was dark brown. From the pics I've seen of the internals of the switch, the strips on the circuit board were bright coper strips. I tried cleaning ?ith alcohol, no change in color. Is it time for a new sensor?

At the brake pedal? And the engine runs fine, at various rpms? Alcohol will not clean copper, you need a mild abrasive. Heck, I have even used light pressure and steel wool to make copper shiney again.

I was thinking that the culprit was going to be the position sensor attached to the ETM.
