My car won't start, and after two weeks in the shop and replacement of the ignition coil, crank sensors, and various other 'cheaper' parts, now they think it is the ignition control module, which, of course, is $965. Am I foolish to keep forking over the cash, or could they really be on to something? Is there any reason not to buy a used part, if indeed this needs replacing? Thanks for any tips!!

I do not have a fix, but I am hoping to see what the pros say. Isnt there a computer that will tell which part or parts have failed ? Is your car ata dealer or a reputable shop that has the plug in diagnostic equipment for your volvo, I know when we had a miss in the car the mechanic pluged in the tools, it gave him a code, he replaced one part and done. Maybe we were just lucky.
