wierd noises S40-V40 2000

i've had my v40 for about 4 months now and just wondered if anyone else has had this come up. when the weather was still cold, i noticed a grinding noise (kinda like a bearing going out) so i took it in for service. (warranty of course) was advised that it was the vac pump for the ABS. now since that was replaced, i have noticed the new pump is very loud.

one other note. is there a antenna trim on the factory head unit? my reception sucks.

    I have noticed over the years then when something is replaced, it often seems louder. What is really probably the case is that your ear is now better tuned to the noise. For comparision I guess you could always ask the dealer to listen to another car.

    As for your radio, I do remember reading on some web page that there is a trick to set the antenna trim on a certain model factory radio by holding certain buttons when the unit powers up. I dont have a link, so I suggest a search..it's out there somewhere.
