Seepage of ATF at lower radiator connector 850 1995

I noticed that there's oil around the area of the lower radiator connector to the AT. I haven't touched the connector before. I replaced the ATF a year ago with the top hose (and it's dry there).

The connector still looks ok. I have a spare one that I can try out. Is there any ring or seal that I can replace? Please help.

Thanks!

Re: Seepage of ATF at lower radiator connector 850 1995

Mr. Yuke,

I believe that there is O-rings between the hose and the radiator. I would replace both the spare connector clip and the O-rings. There is NO O-ring in the AT side. I knew this because I flush the ATF via the Lower AT hose by the Volvo shop manual.

Now, my upper hose is a bit wet. I can see the ATF fluid seeping from the other end of the rubber hose (not the end connected to the radiator via the clip). Dealer is going to replace the hose this Wednesday and hopefully the replacement could be covered under the VIP plan. If the seepage is from the lower hose, I definitely would buy the hose and replace it myself. For the replacement of upper hose, I leave that to the dealer.

Yes - There is an o-ring.

I would guess that may be your problem - as the retainer clip is a positive mechanical connection ( it's either on or off).

Good Luck !
