sc-815 radio "ASR" 850 1995

Can anyone help me turn off the ASR on my SC-815. The FM reception is awful. I found an older post about this but it did not work on my radio.

Any help would be appreciated.

    Are you really talking about the "ASC" which is automatic sound control? I have the SC815 in my car but I haven't come across the ASR that you had mentioned. To turn off the ASC, simply depress and hold the CD button until the the ASC display disappears. Hope this will help you.

      without taking the time/trouble to run extra wiring not present in'95

      850s, the ASC doesn't do anything (the radio doesn't know the car's speed)

      My car did not come with this radio originally and it is not covered in the owners manual. The ASR was what I was talking about but I was thinking that it had something to do with some sort of frequency enhancement function. I could see the "ASR" displayed, and thought I had read about a way to turn it on and off.
