How does one replace/change out the actual lock on the glove box latch of an XC90 (2007)?

Can you open the glove box? There are Torx screws that hold the mechanism cover on the back side of the lid.

If the key rotates the lock and nothing happens, it is not the lock that is the problem and you may have to use a hacksaw.

Thank you. Yes, the key works fine, and the problem isn't with the key, opening the glove box or how to change it out. I just wanted to know how to transfer the existing key (lock insert/spindle) portion from the old unit to the new one I purchased.
