Hi everyone,
My climate control has started acting up recently. When in auto or when the speed of the fan has been set manually on the slider the fan will slowly speed up and slow down, kind of like the tide of the ocean. Twice now the fan has just stopped turning regardless of where it's set.
I hear the compressor cycle on and off when the climate control is on, the fan just won't spit out the air. Then from one day to another it'll just kick on.

So what's going on? Is the entire climate control unit done for or is/are there any submodules that I can begin to trouble shoot.

I'd hate to be caught in an Indiana winter without a heater fan... :-/

    I think the fan is warning you. Removing the glove box and then the kick panel will reveal the blower. It is quite easily removed and replaced.

    Some of the Brickers will oil the bearings or modify the wires so that the brushes have better contact. I just replace it with a new one as they are not that expensive. Remind me to do mine before it gets cold...

      Does the passenger air bag need to come out?

      Is the process similar to how you do it on an 850? I had an 850 before and I remember exploring behind the glove compartment in that car for some reason.

        Almost the same. The S70 glove box has to come out first and then you can see the 3 screws that hold the kickplate. Air bag is not in play.

          Replaced the blower motor today with another Behr unit from FCPGroton. Took all of 15 minutes. Everything is back up and running. Thanks Klaus!! You da man!!!!

          Used my Chilton's guide to accumulate as much knowledge on how to do this before I began. I also found a very helpful YouTube video that chronicles exactly how to do this.
