hood opening woes V70-XC70 1998

1998 V70....asd of late opening the hood is 2 man job- one to pull the latch/lever inside, whilst the other pulls up the hood itself.....
It is the drivers side "pin" mechanism that gets stuck, and WD40 PB Blaster all about the cable and mechanism has not helped- any suggesdtions!!??

Thanks you= Mikey!!!

Check the square bumper on the forward edge of the hood. One on each side. If it looks worn or is missing, replace it.

There are a couple of bolts at the latch where the hood connects (at the engine side) so you can adjust the grab of the hood by sliding latch left or right. It's simple to adjust and is trial and error to get it just right. Bring the hood down and crouch yourself at the bumper and look for the match of hood pins with latch and slide latch left or right. They are 10mm bolts from memory. Just used a little spanner.
Another thing about the hood is to pull the in-car lever and hold three seconds before releasing.
