Creaking/Cracking when turning or Power Steering Rack replaced? V70-XC70 1999

Hi,

Does anyone have a problem with a creaking/cracking noise when making a sharp/full left or right hand turn? I would be interested in those who own 98,99,00 V70 XC.

I am thinking that I have a bad spot in the power steering rack. Anyone have a power steering rack replaced? And if so what was the cause of the failure?

    At full lock you get some noise on both our cars. There are nylon

    bump stops that need to be greased to help prevent this. This

    page shows images of them and has steps to grease:

    P.S. Above is for FWD models but I assume same for AWD.
