Dave and/or John: A friend of my has a 93 850 GLT with 150,000 miles on the OD. Here's the problem. He noticed oil leaking from the front of the engine. I've investigated and found that the breather hose is severed where it connects to the oil trap (not the flame trap), which is under the intake manifold in close proximity to the receiver dryer (The oil trap is attached to the block - it is a black container about six inches long - I'm sure you know what this is). Sorry for the long explanation. In essence, everything is being vented directly into the environment instead of circulating up to the flame trap connection. This is making quite a mess down to the oil pan. My question is, can I gain access to the oil trap from under the car to reconnect/replace this hose from the bottom of the engine with the plastic shield/liner removed? Or, will I have to remove the intake manifild to gain access to the oil trap. Also, do you think I should also replace the oil trap and the other hose that connects the oil trap to the block/crankcase at this juncture? Thanks in advance for your valued opinions and assistance.
