Installing an amp or sub woofer... 850

Ok, I'm in the process of transferring my stereo from my 245, to my 850...and got the stereo in easily (thanks to a friend). Now I'm starting to transfer the bazooka tube and eventually the amp.

Now, unlike I can on the 245 firewall, I can't seem to locate any openings or port of entry I can use.

Does anyone have any tips or clues? I don't want to have to go nutso here though.

Thanks in advance!

The only good firewall holes are under the fuse tray, driver's side. You will want switched power to the Bazooka so it is live when the key is ON, but I would like to see it on only when the radio is on (that's me).

I tried looking for the port as you described, but I could't find it. Is it obvious or kind of hidden?

In figuring out what was wrong with my cruise (the tabs on the brake switch were broken..gotta get a new one! yay) I looked at the firewall from that side and didn't see any.

Does anyone have a picture of the port?

The "port" is under the fuse tray, just unscrew the top and lift off the fuses and you will see the wire bundle going to the cabin. Not much space to work there, but it is doable.

I found a link (on my own, and then via the search here) that showed how to do it, but it didn't seem to match up to mine.

I don't know if being the first year (93) is why I can't seem to find anything.

There are 4 T25 screws that hold down the fuse tray. Under that are the relays. The wire bundle is under that and should be visible. There should be room with the bundle to push another 2 wires through to the cabin.

I removed all of the screws, but the fuse box wouldn't move. But I was able to snake hard wire up to through the fuse box side (hard to describe) and get everything wired.

Although found out my back speaker are toast. I kind of wish the (brand new) 6x9's I bought, originally for my 245, would fit.

Ok, I tried removing all the bolts/screws that keep the fuse tray down but it didn't come out.

Am I doing it wrong?

Do I need to remove the fuses themselves AND the tray ?

Thanks! not having my bazooka tube (granted, it's not like it's anything spectacular) has made travelling not nearly as enjoyable.

Of course, I'm going from a 245 with 245K on it to a 850 with 179 and babied.
