T5R hire performance tires 850

I was wondering if anyone has good recommandations for high performance tires for a 95 T5R.
The car has a few modifications (tuned ecu, eurosport tuning sport air intake, and sport exhaust) and I want good tires for high speeds and handling. I don't care much about road noise but good tread life would be nice. Thanks for any input.

When I bought my '96 855R it had a new set of Yokohama Prada Spec 2s - great tires - a high load rating for low profile tires - good for a wagon.

They were quiet and sticky - after a good ride, they would pick up acorns in my driveway - the only tires that I ever owned that were so sticky that they would pick stuff up!

There are a few tire makers that have performance tires. Look at tirerack.com

Do not expect great mileage from really good sticky tires. All you need is V rated unless you plan on getting on a race track and hitting 155 mph.

Do not go wider than 215 or they will rub on the inner fender and steering parts. Even 215/55 can rub and make for a bad day.

All season or summer only? A lot of people like Conti DSW, which has a bit softer ride. I have also used the UHQ Bridgestone A/S RE970, which is excellent but a bit harder ride. The Conti is ok in snow, the Bridgestone is underwhelming.

Have you looked at TireRack?

Good luck.
