Durability of the 17 in BBS rims C70 2000

I have heard all kind of stories on the bbs rims, from absolutely indestructable to if you hit even a 1 inch deep pothole kiss them goodbye. What has been the experiences with these rims ? J

You fall into a deep pot hole (I don't know about 1" deep , depends how WIDE the hole is adn how fast you go over it), you can kiss ANY rim goodbye, whether it be 16" or 17".

I can't comment with experience regarding these specific rims, but in general BBS makes a relatively tough rim.

When you want light rims, which are what performance rims are, you have to give up on some strength or else you'll have to start using exotic materials. For example, TSW rims are notorious for being soft in certain models especially the VX-1. And you really can't go wrong with forged rims or magnesium rims, or two and even three piece rims.

I wouldn't worry as much about the strength of the rims as I would worry about not hitting potholes when you can avoid them. There seem to be a lot of people that don't do all they can to avoid potholes or roads known to be pothole laden. And for people like that, they shouldn't be running 17" rims with low profile (x<45) tires.

Heck, I ran into a girl today that ripped two rims on her Eagle Talon. Hot blonde, fast black car, but definetly isn't the greatest driver, especially when high :) The sad part is, I'm not lying about the incident.
