Windshield Leak V50 2007

has anyone else had the occurance of their windshield leaking?
After a heavy rain I'll get a puddle on the floor of the, with a
substantial amount of water under the floor mats.
This is happening at the drivers side only, and it's a new thing that's
never happened before.
My first thought is a draine backing up in my sunroof, but the
water seems to be dripping from the faux panel under the steering column.
Any imput will be helpful

Have you found the leak yet? You may want to remove the driver's side carpet, not as hard as it looks. The panel at the bottom of the door lifts up. Remove the front bolts for the seat, loosen the rear bolts so you can pick up the seat about 3 inches. Pull the carpet down from the center console. Slide the plastic left foot rest down and lift it out. Then remove the carpet and put it somewhere to completely dry.

Put the bolts back in for the seats and tighten all 4. Place a dry mat down for your feet and your car is drivable.

Why all this? So you can see where the water is coming from. You might also want to remove the plastic kick panels, the one under the instrument cluster and the one next to the gas pedal.

To help dry out the foam under the rubber floor covering, use newspaper. A couple of sections, not crumpled up, works quite well.

Look for telltale water lines on the rubber mat. Don't forget to also look at the driver door for seepage there.

its likely the sunroof drains, the hoses sometimes shrink and the grommets
on the end of the sunroof drains clog and back up, water will build up in
odd places when this occurs
pull the panel off the windshield pillar and check the hoses for shrinking
then try and blow them out, if the tubes are hard or shrunk replace them
if the grommets are clogged blow them out and run soapy water through them removing/installing them is very very difficult
then stop parking under trees and keep the sunroof gutter clean
