Headlamp wiper V70-XC70

My LH headlamp wiper doesn't. How easy is it to access the motor? What do I have to remove? I'm new to the V70.

The wiring harness goes between the radiator and the headlight. Unfortunately, the motor is beneath the headlight assembly and almost impossible to access. On 2001+ models, the bumper cover has to come off to remove the headlight.

Klaus, mine is a 2000 model. So I have to remove the headlight? Is there a fuse to check first?

I believe there is one fuse for both wipers.

Removing the headlight on the driver's side will not give you the access you want. The motor is between the bumper and the metal that holds the headlights and radiator in place. A real PITA location.

When my wiper motor stopped working, I sprayed PB Blaster on the base of the shaft to get it started again. Seems the salt got to it and corroded the shaft.

I eventually unplugged it (orange plug). When the headlights melt the snow and it drips down to the frozen wiper blade, the wiper either tears the rubber or refuses to turn at all.
