Just got my car out of the auto body shop. Minor front end damage headlight bumper was in for a week.

Driving car home and message no oil pressure stop safely comes on while driving home. Car sounds like a diesel engine.

Questions could it be that something was accidentally disconnected? if so any ideas.

130K miles on the car been using synthetic for last 30k.

would changing the filter and oil possibly remedy problem.

Or Is it the oil pickup lines in the pan.

Like to go from easy to hard.

Any ideas

Did you have a dealer or someone who knows these cars check it after the accident?

A body shop only really knows about the body and appearance - they may have no idea what engine damage could be done to your model car from an accident.

There are a lot of tubes, hoses, wires, etc that could be damaged by the accident.

I would have a dealer tech look at it - mechanical damage should be covered by your insurance.

I going to have it checked out on monday. The extend of the damage was just the front headlight. Realize they needed to take the nose off to do job andmay be they did'nt hook something back up. the damage from the accident I don't think would be an impact. Thanks Anyway

What is your oil level at on the dipstick. Typically this warning is known as the light of death as it usually only comes on after the engine has not been able to build oil pressure and is running "dry". Could be the o rings on the oil pickup system. Based on your indication the engine sounds like a diesel I hate to say you may have spun a bearing due to lack of oil. I would not drive it as is and have it towed somewhere.
