Which brand evaporator to buy? 850

Humbly asking what evap should I buy?
Has anyone used the less expensive ones ?
I have seen four seasons,Austin baker, modine, and nissins.
Let's face it the OEM failed, so who's to say it is so great .
I don't mind adjusting the line. Shit I build custom muscle cars for
a living.
I just would like to know which mfg is the best value? I assume they are all pressure tested?

Thank you all

I'm not really sure how much it matters, assuming they're all close in quality on original construction. Nissens isn't a bad choice.

The main problem comes from them sitting in precipitation for long periods of time. You say you build cars, you'd probably be better off implementing the "fix" Volvo uses for the S60. Turn the fan on for 1-2 minutes 30-60 minutes after you shut the car off so it dries the evaporator off. Change your cabin air filter every year as well.

My evaporator needs to be replaced as well, and I am thinking about the NAPA one, even though it is a little expensive.

Honestly, how hard is the removal and installation? Does it just take time or is it an actual pain to fix? I would rather swap to manual than pull the dash apart.

Replacing the evaporator is harder than replacing the 240 heater core. The entire dash must come out.

As I said in another response today, I have my 99 XC and 96 850 in surgical prep this weekend for evaporators, or else my wife is divorcing me when the heat hits in DC. The fcp evap and dryer are indeed Communist, but they look as good as any domestics that I've bought in past. As a reminder, the instructions you'll find at www.woodjoiner.com/volvo/ is superb. He askes for a paypal donation, AND you can send one to the Brickboard as well if all works out!

              Heads-up:
The unit I just installed was pressure sealed at the factory with rubber stoppers installed. I didn't know that they used such high pressure! When I released the metal retainers, the rubber caps flew off like with a pop like a bottle of Dom on New Years! Bounced off my safety glasses.
