Left turn metallic noise S70 00 GLT

Hi,

When driving straight with hands at 12 o'clock, and begin to make a left turn, I start to hear a metallic clinking noise at about the 6 o'clock position. At full turn the noise disappears, and it only seems to occur around the 6 o'clock position, only left turns. Seems like something's loose and rattling around. The only thing recently done was the 7500 mile service.

Any ideas?

Thanks,

KC

Lube the steering stops with grease as that's most likely the cause.

Re: Left turn metallic noise S70 00

Thanks, John. Today in the light I was able to look around a little better. Since it sounded so "tin-like" I looked for things that could rattle. Turns out that the plate that sits behind the rotor, which I guess is some sort of dust shield, seemed to have a little more play, at the top, than the plate on the passenger side. I couldnt see any bolts to tighten since I dont have a lift, so I bent it back (towards the center of the car) slightly, maybe 1/8 of an inch and it firmed up. The noise is gone. I relubed the stops too afterwards, thanks for the tip.

      KC
