Difficulty Braking the 1st 10 minutes of starting S40-V40 2000

Just wondering if anyone out there has had trouble with braking in the S40 after starting the car just 10 minutes prior? The brake seems to be abnormally hard, and the car doesn't seem to want to stop. It will stop eventually, but it seems as though the pads aren't hitting the rotors. After that initial stop, then the brakes work fine.

Anybody else out there having the same trouble?

BTW, I still love my S40!

Thanks!

John

Had the same problem. Take it to your dealer it's covered. Probably a blown fuse on the vacuum pump, or a bad pump all together. Good Luck.

Pete.

My car had the same problem when I bought it. They told me my brake power assist unit was defective.

Take your car to the dealer, explain things just as you have here in this post and they should be able to stop your problem.
