What is the idle speed on this car: adjustable? S70 1998

Question 1 is the idle speed and is it adjustable?

Shift points on the automatic transmission seem very crisp and seems to wind out rpm wise before shifting. No slippage, but comparing family's two 98's, this one seems rather sharp shift.

Thanks for input,

dick

Thanks. Transmission oil levels are strange, seemingly low and am adjusting upward. Idle is 850 - 900 rpm on both cars.

Idle speed is computer controled, if it idles too fast then it is due to an air leak at the intake manifold. There are no adjustments, unless the pedal cable does not go back to the proper rest point.

Shift points are not related to idle speed but to the TCU. Verify that the ATF is at the correct level on the 'crisp' shifting car. If you have E,S,W buttons, make sure you are comparing with the same configuration - and never use W.
