V70R failed inspections with following codes, NO CEL light on V70-XC70

I just went to get an inspection with a 1998 V70R and failed. Three codes that came up were:

1.) P0455 - Evaporative Emission System Leak Detected (large leak)
2.) P0103 - Mass or Volume Air Flow Circuit High Input
3.) P0243 - Turbo/Super Charger Wastegate Solenoid "A"

I asked the mechanic to scan the car after the inspection failed, all three codes popped up, yet the CEL light was not on. He reset all three and said drive it for around 100 miles and to come back and see if the codes showed up. again.

The car runs smooth and does not have a rough idle at all which I read could be associated with the P0243 code. Shouldn't the MAF sensor throw off the CEL?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The system stores codes. It turns on the CEL after a severe code is found, or after 2 or 3 of the same code get recorded. Yours are probably 'pending', waiting for the system to generate another code before lighting up the dash.

The EVAP code will probably come back, unless you really did have a loose gas cap - or, filled up the tank with the engine running.

that PO455 code is probably a cracked J hose....was a problem on my 98 S70....$20 hose and two hose clamps, and problem went away....just search "J hose" on site for links...Matthews volvo has an excellent tutorial...

Replaced the MAF sensor and TCV last night. Having my mechanic replace the J Hose since it will be on the lift getting all new T Rods anyway. Hopefully this fixes the issues. Will post an update in a few.
