Trip computer conversion S70 1998

My car has the "basic" package showing the time and temperature only on the display just below the speedometer. I notice when the light hits the display just right I can see the LCD options for average speed, MPG, etc. Is it possible to convert to the full trip computer option package? If so, what is involved in the conversion?

The reason I ask is that I've notice some vehicles are pre-wired for some accessories and all that is required sometimes is the addition of a switch and a few other items.

Arby,

The computer option is enabled by a software switch. To activate it the dealer will interface with a computer (at the factory ?) that will download the code to your vehicle. You will also need to buy the electro/mechanical rotary switch to accesses the various functions.

If memory serves me correctly, the switch costs @$35.00 and the download @ 300.00. BTW the wiring connection is behind the blank plate on the dash and you can EASILY connect the switch yourself.
