Giving up on 850 - suggestions needed 850 1997

We have a beautiful 97 840 GLT sedan my wife loves and doesn't want to part with. Have had it since about 1998, second owner. All receipts. Always been in So Cal. Unfortunately I think it is the head gasket as it is loosing coolant every trip and I don't want to keep messing with it. Have faithfully serviced and repaired so hate to just junk it. It would be a great parts car as body, wheels, and everything else is in beautiful shape. Just don't want to work on it any more as I have 2 940s and 1 240 to work on.

Thinking of donating but I can only get deduction for $500 if I donate it. Should I try to sell as is? or part out? or ?

A parts car is worth around $750-900. Get a compression check first! Also have the oil checked for contamination, both of those are cheap.

Make sure you don't have a bad heater hose, between the block and firewall. Or even a cracked overflow bottle cap.

I agree with your wife, the driver's seat is one of the best ever made. I miss my 1998.
