looking XC90 2004

I'm going later today to look at an 04 XC90. It has 78,000 m on it. It is the 5 cylinder, I kn ow to avoid the T6. This will be my first step into the suv's. I have always had only sedans and wagons. Is there anything specific to this year I should be aware of, or is this something I should stay clear of completely. Let me know I always appreciate your input.

Thanks,
Ken

According to Consumers Reports, the early XC90 were high maintenance. Are you really really sure you want an XC90?

We need 7 passenger. My wife would prefer another wagon, but third row seats are getting quite rare for later model years

The only problem with the 04+ is the computers. There are a lot of them and dealers only replace $$$$. Make sure that all of the electrical items work. The tranny and bevel gear fluids will need flushing. All fluids are synthetic, including engine oil.

The 2.5T is a proven good engine, the Haldex is alao good. Just a warning, the car can get stuck if all 4 wheels slip. Find out which fuse is for the ABS and be prepared to pull it out when you get stuck. Disabling the ABS will get you out of a stuck situation.
