New to me..'09 S60 2.5T AWD, couple of questions S60

Finally back years after my 240 and S40 (then a subarOB)sorry!!! So I picked up a certified S60 2.5T AWD with 34k and I love it!!! Couple of questions and an obsevation... I swapped out the paper air filter for a Eurosport washable high flow filter...any pros and cons? The car was to be sold with the stock 235/45/17 setup but the wheel were scratched and the tires were worn. I told the dealer that I wanted a 16" setup...what I got were clean wheels and new Primacy MXV4's, so I am happy!! I know that this size is an option so the speedo/odometer/trip computer should be OK....right???? Compared to my wifes '08 XC70 the ride over bumps is on the harsh loud side....I feel the bumps more and its louder. It does not sound like ther is anythin loose????? Curious, Thanks Bill

You might want to check the tire pressure on all 4. A cold reading of 38psi is for a full load, 32 psi is for a light load. Look at your manual on pages 158-159.

There are 2 sizes for 16in wheels, 205/55 and 215/55. Check http://www.miata.net/garage/tirecalc.html

and compare with the OEM 235/45/17 size.

Yes, the S60 is/always has been noisier than the 850/70 cars. I think they lost some weight by reducing the amount of insulation and plastic bushings instead of rubber.
