How far should the backrest to pivot? 850 1995

Anyone have any idea how close toward the steering wheel I should expect the driver's backrest to pivot?

I just fixed the cable-drive system and have no idea how far it should go forward.
I'm thinking I may have to pull it apart again and adjust something.

Thanks

I suppose I could get a compass and measure mine... It probably should not go more than 90 degrees, if the seat bottom is flat. The cable has nothing to do with it, the electric motor has stops builtin.

You might check B-6 for any codes for the seat. Clear any that you find.

      Thanks Klauss;
A compass is way more involved than necessary!
I pivoted it backwards, and it stops just about an inch above the back seat cushion. I'd suspect that that is just about right.

But that means that the forward pivot ends near a 90 degree with the bottom cushion. It just seems like the maybe 75 or 80 degrees or so would be about right.

How far does it go on your S60?

I have a V70, thank you. I just put the seat cushion all of the way down, front and rear. Then tilted the seat back forward and it came to about 90 degrees to the B pillar, about 80 degrees to the seat cushion.

Poor seat, it was real slow for that motor on battery only. I don't think anyone would ever want to sit like that!!

          Excellent.
It sounds like I'm just about right then.
Yes, that seat does groan when the engine isn't running.
This is great, I'll get it back together today.

Now on to the passenger seat (manually adjusted) to figure out why the back of the bottom cushion doesn't pivot.

          Thanks again.

I can't help with the manual seat, but you might want to start by taking the cover off. It might be the rod broken loose from the plastic fitting on the lever.

            Good luck,

            Klaus
