thanks for your input but the darn antenna won't got up or down with out a little push or pull from me!!does it need replacing totally..

    It just needs a new mast. If it's not bent and not too gunked up with road debris, sometimes it can be cleaned and lubed.

    Get a new one mailorder for $25 and installs in five minutes. I struggled with an ever so slightly bent one for a time and could not get it to work right. Just get a new one.
