Coolant LEAK at firewall Heater connections 850 85

I need help with fixing a coolant leak. There are two heater core connections at the firewall. When I went over a really rough bump in the road the lower of the two connections started leaking. I looked in the Hayes 850 manual I have and I could not find anything on these connections. They appear to have some sort of plastic adapter, but I am at a loss as to how to disconnect/re-connect them. I have tried pushing them together with a prey-bar, but no luck stopping the leak. It leaks several ounces after each drive.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
