How can one tell if they have a trw or sri rack in there car ?

To determine the brand of your rack, please locate the product ID plate of your vehicle. That is under the hood by the drivers side wheel well. You are looking for the last line on the right of the divider and looking for the last digits. If it is marked with a 5, then you have the SMI rack.

Hi, i worked out the pinion gasket in my 850-94 few years ago. this was a TRW.
I found stamp '34 009799 LH / ISSUE D' on upper front side between pinion and engine mount point. 'made in uk' was also somewhere there.
