Hi all,

I solved many of my problems with last week's replacement of the front O2 sensor. Now I've got the 3 remaining codes to address.

P0234 turbo over boost: I've seen on other sites that this is likely a Boost Control Valve. Any thoughts on this? I understand it is an easy repair.

P0101: Mass or Volume air flow A circuit range/performance: I've seen on this or other sites that the likely culprit is the idle adjustment sensor (I think I've got that correct), not the mass airflow sensor.

P0171 Bank 1 System too lean: Wondering if this is a result of the 2 above.

As always, your help is much appreciated!
Gary

I may have solved my turbo boost and system too lean issues: there was a broken hose that runs from the grill back to the engine. It resides below the radiator hose. I believe is is the PCV hose. The hose was completely broken off at the engine. The guys at the auto parts store seemed to think that it could have been the "vacuum leak" that I was stalking.

With the hose broken, the car was making a sucking noise and it would stall if I popped my foot on and off the gas pedal quickly. Now it does neither.

I was going to replace the MAF but thought I'd try the $5 solution and clean it first. We'll see if that did the job. I am guessing that the vacuum hose was causing the stalling, so suspect that I don't need a new idle adjustment sensor.

If I continue to get the P0101, I might replace the MAF.

I'll let you know what is the upshot.
Thanks to all for their help!
Gary

The 101 and 171 go together and is usually the MAF. Unless there is unmetered air entering the intake manifold from a loose or broken vacuum line. Which could be at the boost controller.

So, first, check anything that could let unmetered air enter the air flow after the MAF.

Then work on the boost control and MAF.
