instrument cluster removal S70

tried to get the dash off to replace light bulbs in my cluster.. completely had it all unscrewed, but could not lift section dash near passenger airbag.. was not going to risk it and put it all back together... i need some help here. all is almost identical to 800's but not where the airbag is..

    Why not just lift the driver's side dash and take out the instrument panel. That's what the rest of us do. And, don't forget to remove the service light bulb.

      thats what i tried doing, but I did not know how much flex the dash can take .. can it be damaged? i havent lifted a dash in a long time.. i thought about it, but i did not want to try it until i asked..

        If you remove the torx screws from the left side, including the 2 for the top of the center console, you shouldn't have a problem lifting the dash pad enough to get the cluster out. That is what I did.

        Park the car in the sun to get the dash nice and warm, it bends easier. Just roll the windows down so you don't work up a sweat.

        The cluster has 3 plugs, two on the top rear and one on the bottom for the 'computer'. Battery does not need to be disconnected so long as you leave the key out of the ignition.
