850t to t5 ecu possible? 850 1995

i've got a '95 850 turbo wagon with an auto tranny... I'm looking for somewhat inexpensive upgrades that I can do to get a tad more power with. I'm getting ready to order the IPD plug wires and msd coil, upgraded my intercooler piping, and was wondering if I could get ahold of a T5 ECU, would it work as a direct replacement for my stock ECU?
Thanks

I am going to point you to www.turbobricks.com for a better answer.

You probably want to stay with the 95 ECU, just for wiring compatability. Getting a IC unit that reverses flow to the TB would be a good investment, so long as you don't park outside when it gets -20F. The cooler induction air will help your top end.

A better air cleaner.

An exhaust manifold from an "R" would be to die for...

Larger diameter exhaust is always nice.

But the greatest bang for the bucks is a 'chipped' ECU along with a larger turbo. But be careful here, too much compression is bad for the connecting rods.
