Issue going up hills S80 2001

When going up long hills at a constant speed (55 mph) the tach seems to be jumping a couple hundred rpms either way. when giving it the gas it seems to smooth out? Plugs, Fuel pump, Trans. HELP

    Issue going up hills S80 2001

    Transmission.

    But stop worrying about it! At 55mph, you are right at the edge where the torque converter locks up/frees up. It sounds like the torque converter is going from lock up to slip mode, which is perfectly normal. If it did this at 65mph, I would suspect a problem.
