Hello everyone,

the pass side door locks stopped working on my V70. Specifically, that door doesn't lock, either via the electric mechanism or via the door button/thingie. The door button/thingie (wish I knew the name for that) does move up and down with the electric automatic mechanism but it doesn't seem to be doing anything other than that.

I just noticed it today, but it could have been like that for a long time. At least the alarm goes off when someone opens the door!

I suppose this is probably some disconnected rod or broker interlink or some thing like that... I'm just fishing for advice before I get to the point of tearing the door apart...

any comments?

My 99 S70 has a similar issue with the rear passenger’s door. The door will only lock or unlock with the power lock switch on the driver door. The "Manual Lock Activation/Deactivation Leveler Thingy" moves up and down but does not activate/deactivate the lock mechanism. My older daughter sits in that sit and really gets aggravated because once the doors are locked she can only open her door if the driver unlocks it. I guess this really is a safety issue so I really need to take the panel off and fix the clip....

I have the same problem in my v70. From what I understand..it's common. My passenger door lock doesnt lock. Heres a repair guide. I havent gotten around to fixing it though.

I have a similar problem.
Before the lock failed did the door handle work really hard?
My door took extra force to open it when it was unlocked.
The other night I thought that my wife had unlocked the door.
I used the same amount of force that I had been using all along and the door opened accompanied by the alarm. I turned out that she had not yet unlocked.

I had a simular problem, then the window's stopped working. I replaced the driver side switch assembly and all is well now.
