Infamous ABS light S70 1998

On the way to the office this morning, I had the pleasure of dealing with some rubber necker's gawking at a stalled vehicle on the shoulder of the road. Heavy braking in stop and go traffic for about the first 20 minutes of the journey to work. That's when I noticed the ABS light come on. Understanding that I have to pull the codes to accurately figure out what's going on, is there anything I can do visually to diagnose the problem (i.e faulty connection, dirt, grime on the sensors, etc.) ?

Thanks,
Vinnie

Cleaning/making sure the connections are good to each of the sensors on each wheel certainly wouldn't hurt. I'm not sure if a generic code reader will read ABS codes though...my climate fan control is going crazy & mine won't read those codes.

Hmmmm.....light is extinguished. I've been driving it for the past few hours and have braked hard to see if I can duplicate the problem. On my way to auto parts store to pull any codes.

Good, may have just been a dirty sensor or something. Stomp the brakes hard tomorrow and make sure the ABS is still actually working before you actually need it ;)

No codes at all.....whew! Drove for another hour and no lights.....definitely a good thing! New struts, shocks, seat springs, and end links en route from iPD and scheduled for Wed to be installed at my indy shop......
Would love to purchase some nicer wheels for the car in the near future....after I buy the ipd sway bars. Any suggestions on what to go with and what to avoid?
