Trunk advisory light stays illuminated? C70

Hi All,

Has anyone experienced this? I attempted to replace the trunk lock with no success... The advisory light on the instrument panel flickers when driving on sections of rough road... Seems as if there is a loose connection somewhere... Any guidnace as to repairs and or a wiring schematic would be beneficial... Once I figure it out...I'll post what I discovered...

In advance,

Thanks all!

Frank

A coupe? Please also indicate year, it helps.

Open the trunk. Use a philips screwdriver and manually close the latch to the second position, the trunk light should turn off. Now stick the screwdriver through the hole in the latch and try pulling down on it - see if the trunk light comes on indicating a failure in the latch mechanism.

The wires follow the driver's side hinge. Pull off the plastic cover and see if there is any chafing on the harness. With the trunk still open and latched, wiggle the wires and watch for the light to come on.

Unlatch the lock and slowly close the trunk. You should hear it click twice and have the lid secure.
