Driver's side window moving slower, slower.............. 850

When I depress my driver's side window auto button and the window begins to move down and then abruptly halts about 1/3 of the way down and then only keeps moving if I press and hold the button again, is this a sign that the motor is about to die? Or is there another possible cause.

When you slam (gently close?) the driver's door, is there a reasuring thud or is there also a rattle? If it rattles even a little, your guide could be broken and is now putting too much tension on the glass.

The guides could be very dirty, in which case I think there is a cleaner at your local auto parts store, but you still need to take the door panel off.

Well. Not a simple diagnosis. Could be motor, of course. Could be mechanical resistance in the regulator inside the door. Have also seen switches not deliver full voltage. The fact that the window starts to work again with another press of the switch makes me think that might be a good place the start.
