help help.Please help..can't get rear rotors off.... V70-XC70 98 AWD R

Ok,

First off thanks for the Bay 13 printed brake directions. They helped with the fronts and they were very good. One scarry thing was when jacking up the car with the volvo jack it collapsed. Thank you God that I didn't have the wheel off or the jack stand under the car.

On to my problem. Also how does one get the rear rotors off my 1998 V 70 AWD R? I removed the rear calipers and went to try and remove the rear rotor and I wouldn't come off. When I looked it appears to have the emergency brake system connected but I can't figure out how to get it off? Any thoughts/hints? I know that I'm close but I can't figure out how to go from here.

Thanks,

Bill

- Safely block the wheels of the car

- Get a working jack (hydraulic - floor)

- Check that the E-Brake is disengaged.

- There is an adjustment star to release the e-brake shoes

- Assuming the e-brake shoes are fully retracted use the large hammer to remove the rotor.

Humm I don't recall if I had the ebrake on or off. Now that would stink if I forgot that. But I'll assume if it wasn't on, how do I access the adjustment star? There wasn't much room in there I would also assume the old lefty loosie and rightie tightie in regards to the adjustment star. And how do I reset the star to the origional setting.

Thanks, I knew that I missed something...

Bill - sorry about all the questions

It's accessed from inside one of the holes, wheel side with a thin screwdriver. It helps to use a small light source to see the wheel and what you're doing, not easy to see either.

After you de-adjust it to remove the rotor, you'll need to re-adjust it for proper e-brake lever travel with the new rotor (or old too if re-installing). Turn it until the rotor doesn't move, then back it off a few clicks so you have slight drag and the e-brake lever seems normal.
